Viktor Korolchuk is one of the most widely collected artists in Ukraine, A graduate of the Kiev Institute of Art, his works are in museums in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus, as well as in major private collections in Japan, Belgium, Poland, Austria, France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the United States.
Korolchuk was accepted into the Union of Artists of Ukraine in 1965 and served as an official artist of the Soviet Union from then until the dissolution of the USSR in late 1991. During that period, the artist participated in local, republican and all-Soviet exhibitions. In 1995, Korolchuk was honored with a one man exhibition at the Kiev Art Academy.
In the 1990’s, Korolchuk experimented in the avant-garde style. However, he returned to the representational style that made him immensley popular throughout his career. Korulchuck reffered to this return to the representational as his "remaining true to his creative spirit".
Korolchuk carries the coveted title, "People’s Artist of Ukraine", a title reserved for only the most respected artists of their time. He is listed in Matthew Bown’s, A Dictionary of Thentieth Century Russian and Soviet Painters, 1900-1980’s.
