1922 - 

Anatoli Pavlovich Levitin was born in Russia in 1922.

He studied at a children’s art school in Moscow during the 1930’s and at the Leningrad Intermediate Art School until 1941.

He was accepted into the prestigious Repin Institute in St. Petersburg, studying there from 1945 to 1951.

He participated in many shows throughout his career including:
"All-Union Art Exhibition", Moscow, 1952;
"All-Union Art Exhibition", Moscow, 1955;
"Soviet-Russia", Moscow, 1960.

His well-known works include, "A Fresh Issue of the Works Newspaper," 1952, and a "Warm Day," 1957, both of which are in the permanent collection of the Russian State Museum in St. Petersburg.

Levitin is a member of the Russian Artists’ Union, is an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation as well as a People’s Artist of the Russian Federation.

He is listed on page 186 of  Matthew Bown’s, A Dictionary of Twentieth Century Russian and Soviet Painters.
