1924 - 2001

Korobov was born on April 29, 1924 in Artemovka, a small village near Lugansk, Ukraine.

He studied at the Kiev Art Institute and participated in his first exhibition in 1954. That same year, he was accepted into the Union of Artists of Ukraine.

Known primarily as a landscape and figurative painter, Korobov's works are in the permanent collections of several Ukrainian museums including the Zaporozhe Art Museum. His works have also been widely collected throughout Europe and the US.
He spent most of his career in Zaporozhe, Ukraine and was a well-known impressionist.

He is listed on page 156 of Matthew Bown's, A Dictionary of Twentieth Century Russian and Soviet Painters, 1900-1980's, while his famous painting, "Sailors on Attack, 1943," is shown on page 161 of Realism and Socialist Realism in Ukraine Painting of the Soviet Era, published in Kiev in 1998.
