1910 - 1958-67 Vladimir Filaretovich Nesterov was born in 1910 near Leningrad. He worked for many years as a professor of drawing at the Repin Institute. These drawings were from a private collection of the widow of a former Academy colleague of Nesterov.  He is listed on page 221 of Matthew Bown's, A Dictionary of Twentieth Century Russian and Soviet Painters.
